Notice of Motion:
1        Mr Dean to move ¾ That the Auditor-General Report No. 1 of 2015-16 entitled ‘Absenteeism in the State Service’ be considered and noted.

7        Mr Mulder to move ¾ That the Legislative Council considers and notes the parliamentary internship project “Sharing in Local Government Reform” completed by Cameron Sweeney.

8       Ms Rattray to move That the Legislative Council agree to amend the order establishing Government Administration Sessional Committee ‘B’ by replacing the former portfolio of the Minister for Resources with the Minister for Forestry and the Minister for Mining.

9       Mr Valentine to move That the Legislative Council —

          (1)     Expresses its significant concern with the recent announcement of major job cuts to the scientific workforce within the CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere research program based in Hobart;

          (2)     Notes the broader impact this decision will have on the world leading science being undertaken in the areas of oceanographic, atmospheric and Antarctic research in Hobart, including by the Institute of Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS), the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) and the Antarctic Division; and

          (3)     Questions how the decision can support the shared vision of the Commonwealth and State Governments supporting Hobart being the Australian gateway to scientific research in these  areas.
