6       Mr Dean to move ¾ That the Legislative Council calls upon the Treasurer to reconsider his position in relation to the release of an unredacted copy of his letter to the Minister for Energy dated 9 April 2015 and relating to the sale of the Tamar Valley Power Station:

  • in keeping with our system of responsible Government which embodies the principle of Parliamentary accountability;

 

  • on the condition that the letter be provided to a totally independent and suitably qualified third party as arbiter to assess the validity of the claim to immunity;
  • that the independent and suitably qualified third party be a person mutually acceptable to the President of the Legislative Council and the Premier; and

 

  • that the assessment by the arbiter of the claim to immunity be not open to challenge.

7        Mr Farrell to move ¾ That the Government take into account fresh evidence which supports a tourist rail development on the North East rail line prior to proceeding to take up the rail line required for that tourist rail development
