RECURRENT SERVICES AND WORKS AND SERVICES EXPENDITURE

Mr DEAN ( Windermere ) - Madam President, I was not going to talk on this matter at all but I do want to raise one issue. It is interesting to see that the Department of Police and Emergency Management are doing things so well because they rate very few comments in relation to this document - only one on the last page. It will be interesting to know what the delay has been in relation to the Devonport headquarters, because that is what it relates to, and the movement of that money into other areas, into Bellerive and Glenorchy for their headquarters buildings.

I would like to know just what the delay is at Devonport. Devonport Police Station is without doubt in a worse position than the Bellerive and Glenorchy stations.

Mr Martin - Glenorchy is pretty bad.

Mr DEAN - The Devonport station would be 15 or 20 years older than the Glenorchy station. I have worked in both and know that the Devonport station is a mess so I would like to know why there has been a delay in the movements in relation to the Devonport Police Station.
