STANDING ORDERS COMMITTEE

Mr DEAN ( Windermere ) - Mr President, I simply rise to compliment those people responsible for putting this together. When you start looking at the Standing Orders, people say that they should be succinct, to the point, and should be very easily read. The document is extremely easy to read. I am a relatively new member in this House and I certainly have had no problems in understanding the Standing Orders as they are in this document, Mr President. I might say that the Police Standing Orders stand about that thick and they are A4. I have a very good knowledge of the Police Standing Orders and it is probably because I have infringed most of them at some time or another, but I would hope that I do not infringe these, Mr President.
It is a good document, it is an easily read document and easily understood. I simply commend those responsible for bringing this document forward.
