On Sunday 1 August 2004, I had the pleasure of attending the Official Opening of the Waverley Friendship Community Playground and Meeting Place. As this is the only park of its kind in the area, the Waverley Family Focus Group believe this space will become a focus for the community. Hundreds turned out to enjoy the celebrations and many of the excited children told me they thought it was like 'Disneyland in Waverley'.
