Parliamentary History Project

The principal aim of the Parliamentary History Project is to prepare a new book on the first 150 years of the Tasmanian Parliament. This relatively 'new' aim has in fact been discussed for many years. Not least, the Project Manager and Deputy Clerk of the House of Assembly discussed finding a person to write the book on several occassions including 1990, 1992 and again in 1995.

Before this project was commenced the Project Manager [while employed as Parliamentary Librarian ] prepared a series of Parliamentary Fact Sheets that explored certain areas of this history and made it widely available. in print and on-line. These have since been 'revamped' and remain available via the Parliamentary Library webpage, noted below.
