A special place to sit and remember in time for Anzac Day. I especially love the shadow 💙. Congratulations to Sonya Byrne for her determination to bring this installation to Launceston. Launceston Legacy Inc. Launceston RSL

Wine Tas In Parliament I moved a motion on the contribution the wine industry makes to the local economy. With the electorate of Rosevears being in the heart of the Tamar Valley wine region it’s so important we acknowledge these wonderful producers. Coincidentally Wine Tasmania visited Parliament House and I was pleased to meet members of the Board - Chair, Martin Rees and CEO, Sheralee Davies who do an excellent job to support local wine makers and promote Tasmanian wine globally

Little Aths Another incredible season for the Launceston Little Athletics Centre. Congratulations to all our athletes, big and tiny!!! With excellent participation numbers this season, well done to the committee and volunteers who make it all happen. Thanks for having me at the final meet for the season at Windsor park precinct and I wish all athletes competing at the State Championships next weekend in Penguin the very best of luck!

Clifford Craig A brilliant afternoon celebrating International Women's Day at the Clifford Craig Foundation Luncheon. Great to join with other women in our community looking at how we can continue to forward "gender equality". A great pleasure to represent our Minister for Women, Madeleine Ogilvie MP at this event and to hear from Her Excellency the Honourable Barbara Baker AC.

QVMag Incredibly special to present the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery Arts Foundation Award Medallion to the extraordinary Raymond Arnold. This beautiful piece of work “Elsewhere World” will now hang here in Launceston for the enjoyment of generations to come. Thank you Elise Archer MP Minister for Arts for allowing me to represent you at this special event

Longford Some very flash wheels on display at the launch of Longford Motorama. Great to join Rob Fairs and supporters to hear of the exciting plans for 2022.

New Citizens What an honour to be part of these special moments, sharing in the citizenship ceremonies of over 150 new Australians who now call Launceston and the West Tamar home

What a magnificent job the members of the Riverside Men’s Shed have done framing my first Parliamentary photo of the Legislative Council. A huge thank you to Preben Kristensen for taking such care. This will certainly hang with pride in my office.

Never underestimate the power of friendship and community. Christmas with the gorgeous members of the Exeter Probus Club who certainly know how to look out for each other and have a good laugh. Fabulous meal with thanks to the Legana Tavern!

A sing-a-long, Christmas cheer and way too much lunch… A magical day with Roy, Betty and all the residents at Masonic Care Tamar Valley Court.

A step back in time as we hit the dance floor. Lovely to have the company of Tania Rattray MLC who joined Andrew for the judging of the Belle of the Ball. Thank you to Dennis and the amazing committee for putting on such a fabulous evening.

Promise for Afghanistan 💕 What an emotional and beautiful lunch. A sea of Launceston women coming together to not only raise money but to reach out to the women and girls in Afghanistan, and to have women from our own local Hazara community Launceston sharing in a feast courtesy of Alida at Penny Royal. Congratulations to the dynamic organising committee, $50,000 was raised!!!! I have never been so proud of the women in our community who saw a need and sprung to life. What an honour to MC this special event.

It wasn’t pretty, but it was worth it! MS Walk + Run + Roll raising money to support Tasmanians living with Multiple Sclerosis. My fabulous family walked with me in honour of my dear dad who lost his battle with MS 31 years ago 💔

What a night! The Bridgenorth Footy Club Annual Presentation and Trophy Night. Quite emotional as the Club honoured some of its stalwarts like Bobby Beams. And more than a few laughs as J-Rod was honoured for his 300 games. But favourite cuddle of the night always belongs to Life Member Valma Walker.

Great to attend the AGM of Community Care Tasmania with Bridget Archer MP - Liberal Member for Bass yesterday. Discussing plans for the future.

Although I could not have bowled a more horrendous 'first bowl of the season', what a wonderful day we had at the Season Opening for the Beauty Point Bowls Club. Ripper people with such a strong sense of community. The new upgraded facilities are coming along beautifully which will ensure this is a top notch space for our club members and anyone who wants to share in some fun and friendship.

Great to spend time with some of my favourite people in West Tamar. Wonderful to have the opportunity to stay in touch with the issues that really matter to the residents of Tamar Valley Court, Masonic Care Tasmania and to be joined by Bridget Archer MP - Liberal Member for Bass.

A brilliant end to the 2021 season for the Launceston City FC. Congrats to all the winners, runners up, and those recognised for their commitment to this Club.

Not a lot of wind but the sun was certainly shining for the season opening for the Port Dalrymple Yatch Club. Always great to join Club Patron Councillor Peter Kearney and Life Member Betty Shepherd.

This extraordinary Tasmanian business, Tamar Hydro Pty Ltd, just off the main road at Exeter is the largest manufacturer of hydro turbines in Australia. Since the business started in 1938 it’s had a few changes but is now a thriving local business exporting turbines worldwide.

"A fair go for every Tasmanian youth". What an honour to join my dear friend Rob Fairs as he launched the Rob Fairs Foundation. I am so proud of him. This foundation has been years in the making and Rob's passion for our young people is exemplary.

What could be better than a hot Christmas lunch in the middle of July 🎄 Huge thank you to Beaconsfield House for not only a fabulous spread, but wonderful company.

In awe of how hard the Beauty Point Bowls Club has worked (I’m talking about you Greg!!) to build the new unisex disability and ladies toilets. I know Sarah Courtney MP will be thrilled to see this. Thank you so much for including me in your special lunch to celebrate the clubs achievements over the past year.

We laughed, we cried and we remembered Alex Gadomski and Maddie Riewoldt The Alex Gadomski Fellowship Maddie Riewoldt's Vision. To stand beside Alex's parents, Paul and Janet, knowing of the endless pain of losing their son Alex at the age of 21 to Bone Marrow Failure is beyond hard and every year I host this event fighting back the tears wondering if I could be as strong as they are if it were my son. Our only path is to raise money for research into Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes which is done through the Menzies Research Centre. What on honour to interview Dr Kirsten Fairfax & Ariel Simpson who work each day to try and find better treatments and a cure. Paul & Janet, your courage is inspiring and heartbreaking all at once.

"The Curve of Nature" Mural - Students from Riverside Primary School, Launceston have helped local mural artist Melski McVee Artist bring the wall to life using the paint-by-numbers method and creating a depiction of the Tamar Island Wetlands and the elegant swan. A big thank you goes to the students for helping brighten the walls in the centre.

I always walk away from sharing a morning with Probus feeling inspired and just a little wiser. Thank you to my colleague Tania Rattray MLC for sharing this lovely time with us all.

August 18th is the day we pause and reflect on the service of our Vietnam Veterans. Lest we forget.

What a treat to be invited to my Son's school, East Launceston Primary School, to share a little about my role in the Legislative Council. Really good questions from these bright young minds.

Tassie Leaders step forward!! How inspiring to attend the Tasmanian Leaders Program Graduation. Such a diverse range of community leaders taking part in this program.

A police officer, a fire station officer and an ambulance officer. All Tasmanian women who have forged the path for the generations who have followed them into careers in the frontline.

18 new inductees onto the Tasmanian Honour Roll of Women including the fabulous Janine Healey for her service to the arts, business, community and human rights.

It may not have been the best weather but enthusiasm was high at the Port Dalrymple Yacht Club Woman on Water.

Clown Doctors are in town! Launching the Annual Road Side Appeal at the LGH, raising money to keep our beautiful clown doctors in our public hospitals across Tasmania.

Introducing Laura Moore. I am so delighted to introduce my Electorate Officer. Laura is an extraordinary Tasmanian woman who’s warmth, enthusiasm and professionalism will be a huge asset to our beautiful electorate of Rosevears (and if you think you recognise her, well among her many talents, she also presented the weekend weather for many years).

Laura lives with her husband and two little boys in the heart of our electorate, Legana.

The recently opened Legana Pump Track

Great to be able to sit this afternoon and chat at Masonic Care, Tamar Court. This is such a wonderful example - always looking out for each other. Always feels like a home away from home spending time at Exeter when I pop in for a visit.

As Vice Patron of the Port Dalrymple Yacht Club it’s great to be part of a discussion with Bridget Archer MP and club members around the slipway environmental upgrade.

A special thank you to my small but loyal team ... and above all my husband and children who took this journey with me 💙
