The River Cafe at Beauty Point now has a defibrillator on the front deck which is available 24 hours a day. Great to work with Richard Bowler in ensuring our community has this life saving equipment.
Very moving morning at Beaconsfield. Huge numbers turning out to be part of this moment. Thank you so much to the Beaconsfield RSL. Our family just loves being part of your community.
Very special to lay a wreath at the Exeter RSL Sub Branch today with my boys by my side. So important our children understand sacrifice, loyalty and mateship.
Securing the future for the Sidmouth War Memorial Hall, which will receive much-needed upgrades under a re-elected majority Gutwein Liberal Government. Funding of $70,000 will upgrade and refurbish the memorial hall, including heating, kitchen upgrades, fresh paint both internally and externally and a new barbecue area - delivering great facilities for a great community!
We have some very happy bowlers at the Beauty Point Bowls Club. There were smiles all round, and even the offer of a beer at 10am, as Sarah Courtney MP announced a re-elected majority Liberal government will fund new men’s toilets and a disability toilet for the club to the tune of $56,000. Congratulations to Paul Filgate and the club members, Sarah and I know how much this means to you all.
Congratulations to the Port Dalrymple Yacht Club on its commitment to the health of our Tamar River. A re-elected Liberal Government will contribute $112,500 towards the Club's goal to prevent anti-fouling material making its way into the River. Great to join Michael Ferguson, Commodore Greg Rowsell and Rear Commodore Glen Cornish at Beauty Point. We still have a way to go, but this is a wonderful step in the right direction!

Very humbling to present to Mrs Sandra Campbell an award for her services to the Arts. She was joined by Mr Keith Adkins in receiving the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery Arts Foundation Award.
Magic day at the Beauty Point Community Market. Stunning success. It’s always a good sign when the Rotary Club sells out of sausages. And not many markets have their own band playing!!! West Tamar Municipal Band sounding great. Much of the proceeds are going towards an Ability Playground.
Tassie Leaders step forward!! How inspiring to attend the Tasmanian Leaders Program Graduation. Such a diverse range of community leaders taking part in this program.

The moment Richie Porte was lead into Launceston Civic Square. The City of Launceston RSL Band lead the procession. Emotional scenes as bike riders from across the north joined Richie’s family and friends as he was presented with the key to the City by Mayor, Albert van Zetten.

So joyful and emotional to see 61 new Australians at the City of Launceston Citizenship Ceremony. The bright faces of the children filled with anticipation of what their life in Tasmania will bring. So special to have Premier Peter Gutwein and Bridget Archer MP join Mayor, Albert van Zetten who officiated the ceremony.
If you want to be inspired, check out Camps Tasmania and its extraordinary group of young leaders. These guys run a series of camps throughout the year and I had the privilege of spending an evening at the Summer Camp for 12-16 year olds at Paper Beach. From across the State, these young people come together and experience true acceptance, new adventures and are supported in stepping outside of their comfort zone. Camp Director Nat, a former Prospect High School student, and her leadership team are truly inspirational. The camps are proudly supported by the Rotary Club of West Tamar.
You couldn’t find a better example of community spirit and friendship than the National Seniors Launceston Branch. Lovely to share in your final gathering for 2020. Congratulations to President Shirley Kirkby and her wonderful team.
Dancing Minions and a socially distanced Mr & Mrs Claus all made for a fabulous Christmas celebration with New Horizons Tasmania. Congratulations to Belinda Kitto and team for such a special night of fun and friendship. A big shout out to Wayne at Manion Plumbing for his generous support of the evening. NHT provides sport, recreation and many social events for people living with disability, playing such a special and important role in our community
Under a magnificent sky, the Exeter Community Carols certainly brought the West Tamar Community together. You can’t beat singing all our favourite Christmas songs while the summer time smells of sausages and freshly cooked onions fills the air, thanks to the West Tamar Rotary Club. Beautiful Matthew Garwood was a stand out.
Delighted to officially open the Legana Pump Track with Mayor Christina Holmdahl at the recently developed Legana Recreation Youth Space on behalf of Minister for Sport and Rec, Jane Howlett.
Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this project to fruition. I’m sure young and old will thoroughly enjoy this wonderful new facility.
Great to be able to sit this afternoon and chat at Masonic Care, Tamar Court. This is such a wonderful example - always looking out for each other. Always feels like a home away from home spending time at Exeter when I pop in for a visit.
As Vice Patron of the Port Dalrymple Yacht Club it’s great to be part of a discussion with Bridget Archer MP and club members around the slipway environmental upgrade.
Great to visit the Exeter Art Studio and support local artists. It’s not only an exhibition but a working studio for artists in the area.

And the season is off and bowling!! Bit nerve-racking bowling the first ball of the 2021 season for the Beauty Point Bowls Club especially with my two boys watching on hoping Mum didn’t embarrass them. Really honoured to be asked to be the Clubs Patron for the coming year. Thanks for a wonderful afternoon.
What an honour to join the Beaconsfield RSL to present medallions to two veterans as part of the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the end of WWII.
