The Parliament of Tasmania Education Office is about to launch online professional learning on civics in the Tasmanian context, aiming to help teachers feel confident delivering interesting and informative lessons on this key democratic institution and how students can be involved in their democracy.

The Parliament of Tasmania Education Office is producing education resources to help students understand the work of the House of Assembly. Some resources teach specialist parliamentary knowledge, other resources give students opportunities to apply such knowledge with a practical activity.

Differentiation
The Parliament of Tasmania Education Office is mindful that the Australian Civics and Citizenship Curriculum covers many outcomes across a wide span of year levels. In addition, teachers face a huge range of student diversity within each of their classes. Therefore, while education resources are targeted to different year levels they could be easily modified for individual student needs.
