Professional Learning
The Education Office is offering professional learning on how to teach Civics and Citizenship in the Tasmanian context, aiming to help teachers feel confident delivering interesting and informative lessons on the key democratic institution of the Parliament and how students can be involved in their democracy.
Parliament 101 - Online
Parliament 101 is suitable for upper primary and secondary teachers new to teaching civics and those wanting to refresh their knowledge. There is no cost to participate.
Duration: 90 minutes
Delivery: Via MS Teams
Suitable for: Upper primary and secondary teachers new to teaching Civics and Citizenship or those wishing to refresh their knowledge in this area.
Content: The course covers the Civics and Citizenship curriculum, specifically as it applies to the Parliament of Tasmania. There are links to practical activities to bring the content to life in the classroom.
