Arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, on 26 March 2020 the Parliament of Tasmania passed the COVID-19 Disease Emergency (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2020 (the Act). The Act prescribed a role for the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Subordinate Legislation (the Committee) to scrutinize certain notices made under the Act.
An emergency cessation day under the Act was declared for 30 April 2023. Section 12 of the Act prescribes that no notices may be issued after the emergency cessation day.
