Senior Executive and Senior Specialist Positions Governance and Costings

The Committee resolved the following Terms of Reference:

In accordance with section 6(2)(a) of the Public Accounts Committee Act 1970, the Parliamentary Standing Committee of Public Accounts inquire into and report upon the senior executive and senior specialist positions across Government Departments, Statutory Authorities and Government Owned Businesses including:

1. the size of the establishment and associated costs
2. the associated trend and total employment costs and their alignment with the Government’s fiscal strategy
3. the processes and governance arrangements for the establishment, classification, recruitment and remuneration of these positions
4. delivery of the objectives under the State Service Management Office Managing Positions in the State Service April 2026
5. associated costs and funding for staff separations, and
6. any other related matters.

At this stage, the Committee  is not seeking public submissions for this targetted inquiry until it has considered the evidence  received.
