Biography - Julia Agostino

Julia Agostino profile photoJulia Agostino commenced as the Motion for Respect – Independent Project Manager in June 2023.

Prior to this, Julia was the Deputy Clerk for the ACT Legislative Assembly, the first woman appointed to the position since the Assembly was established in 1989.

With a background in federal parliament and local government, Julia has held senior roles as a Committee Secretary with both the Department of the House of Representatives and the Australian Senate and was previously an Investigator with the Commonwealth Ombudsman.

Between 2011 and 2013, Julia was the Manager of Regional Partnerships for Latrobe City Council in Victoria’s East, where she led council’s efforts to support major industry, business and local communities transition from a century-old reliance on brown coal to a lowcarbon economy.

Julia is passionate about the environment, sustainability, and animal welfare. She lives in Canberra with her husband Tim and their Jack Russell Terrier, Roxy.
